How to Apply False Lashes

How to Apply False Lashes - Cosmetics Fragrance Direct

Do you have a special occasion coming up? Perhaps a wedding to attend? A birthday party or Race Day? Or you just want to add some va-va-voom to your eye looks? Applying false lashes or falsies can seem tricky but it only takes three quick and easy steps to give your eyes that instant glamification.

First up: Know your eye shape!

Deep-set eyes: when your eyes are set deeper creating an illusion of a more prominent brow bone. Try lashes that are longer in length at the centre of the lashes.

Downturned eyes: when the outer corners of your eyes appear to be drawing downwards. Try a shorter strip lash that is longer in the outer corners to lift your eyes.

Hooded eyes: when the crease on your eyelid isn't visible. Try a thin strip lash in a shorter length.

Prominent eyes: when your eyelids appear projected in the eye socket area. Try balancing your top lashes with strip lashes on the bottom too, which will give the illusion of pushing back your eyes.

Whether you opt for something natural and wispy or go bold with a set of dramatic lashes, here’s how you can pop on a pair of falsies to add that ultra-flattering length and fullness to your eye look.

  1. Curl your natural lashes and comb on a coat of mascara. This will help support the weight of your falsies.
  2. Trim the lashes to fit your eye shape and length. Apply a small amount of glue to the strip and allow 30 seconds for the glue to become tacky.
  3. Using your fingers or tweezers, position the strip at the base of your natural lashes – place your extension on the outer corner first and then gently press onto your lash line.

Do the finishing touches by patting the eyelashes down. At this point, you can choose to reapply your mascara for a more seamless look.
