British fashion designer, Stella McCartney is best known for her eponymous fashion label. Born in 1971, she is the daughter of a celebrity couple. Her father is former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and her mother, the late Linda McCartney is a musician, animal rights activist and photographer.
Her interest in fashion began at a young age and at age 13 she began designing and creating her own clothes. McCartney studied fashion in the early 90s and her supermodel friends Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Yasmin Le Bon volunteered to model her designs at the graduation runway show. Her signature style is sharp, simple tailoring with an edgy feminine spin that are designed for everyday women. A staunch vegetarian and animal rights activist, like her mother, McCartney never uses leather, fur, wool, silk or any animal-derived product in her designs.
In 2003 the ‘it’ girl released her first fragrance, Stella. This stunning, floral fragrance has been praised for its reinvention of classic rose. Prior to Stella, rose based fragrances had a tendency to smell old fashioned and dowdy, whereas this gorgeous fragrance is the epitome of vintage chic, capturing the fragility of a rose and the sensuality of femininity.
