Bergamot Fragrances and Beauty Products

Named after the Italian city of Bergamo, the Bergamot orange is a small citrus fruit. Its delicious oil is used to flavour foods and beverages such as candy and tea. Additionally, Bergamot essential oil is also used in aromatherapy to help treat depression and as a digestive aid.

The sweetness and mild spice of the Bergamot peel makes it a perfect note to energise water, mossy woods, chypres and leather fragrances, while the fruity zing is charming when paired with crisp green notes.

Nearly one third of all men’s fragrances and half of all women's fragrances include Bergamot. This includes Sarah Jessica Parker's NYC Pure Crush, which uses Bergamot to create a refreshing and invigorating scent that transports the wearer to tropical islands and sandy beaches. While for men, Hugo Boss employs the vivacious nature of Bergamot as a top note to reflect the joy of spontaneity in Boss Orange for Men.
