Ralph Lifschitz was born in 1939 in The Bronx, New York. At a young age his brother decided to change the family name from Lifschitz to Lauren. Although he never studied fashion, Lauren always had a keen interest in design. In 1967, he began his career in the fashion industry by creating Polo, a men’s tie business. Polo proved to be immensely successful and inspired him to produce complete men’s and women’s wear lines. Today, Ralph Lauren is a multi million dollar fashion empire and one of the most well known names in the fashion industry.

The brand is instantly recognisable by their logo of a pony and a polo player. This signature stamp reflects the brand’s outdoors and casual feel.
