Beyoncé was born on September 4, 1981. Growing up in Houston, Texas, Beyoncé attended a performing arts school to advance her natural talent as a singer and performer.
In the 1990s, at the peak of girl pop groups, Beyoncé became the lead singer of the immensely successful R&B group, Destiny’s Child. In 2003, Beyoncé released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, earning her five Grammy Awards and making her a household name. In 2010, Beyoncé was awarded six Grammy awards for her album, 'I am… Sasha Fierce'. Her video film clip for 'Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)', became an iconic statement of her fierce, feminine power that had men across the world shaking in their boots.
As well as having an impressive list of chart-topping singles and albums, Beyoncé is also a star on the silver screen. She has appeared in major films such as Dreamgirls, Austin Powers’ Goldmember and The Pink Panther.
