Grease Glam !

The Greased Lightning is burning up the quarter mile in Brisbane this month for a series of shows at QPAC. Along with the songs that we all know and love, this new take on a much-loved production has reminded me of the makeup and fashion trends that go hand-in-hand with this musical favourite. Whether you're a preppy, Sandy gal or rock chick Rizzo is more your style, this makeup trend is loads of fun, easy to recreate and won't have you looking like a beauty school dropout. “Tell me more, tell me more” I hear you say? Then, read on!

Sandy style girlies should opt for a creamy foundation for a dewy complexion. Swirl a bit of peach or pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks and illuminate the high points of your face (down the nose, cupid's bow, top of your cheek bones, underneath the brow). Remember the golden rule of highlighting – don't highlight anywhere that you don't want to draw attention to. Finish with a layer of mascara on your lashes and a pretty pastel nail polish. This style is all about looking fresh and innocent, making it a great choice for everyday wear. Less is more with Sandy's style!

Turn up the sass with Rizzo's signature style. Slick red lipstick across your pout and match it with scarlet nails. If you have short hair, curl it with rollers and spritz with hair spray to keep it in place. High, arched eye brows and liquid black flicked eye liner are a must-have. Matched with Rizzo's womanly confidence, this would be a great date night look.

Add a hint of either look for a modern take on old school Grease glam!
