Summer Makeup Trends

Although the spring/summer fashion shows featured swoon worthy clothing pieces, at Cosmetics Fragrance Direct we are always on the lookout for the latest makeup trends and loved what we saw on the runway! Be on the forefront of fashion by trying our favourite makeup looks from the catwalk this summer.

If eye makeup is your thing, you're in for a treat as there were plenty of looks on the runway that you can try. Both Gucci and Versace played up eyes with a metallic shadow in hues of champagne, silver and gold. A wash of pink was applied to lids at Topshop and Clements Ribeiro. A big trend this season is to define the lower lash line, whether it be a grungy grey liner as seen at the Lanvin show or a pop of colour which was a favourite at Stella McCartney. Gucci loved va-va-voom faux lashes that are both glamorous and gorgeous.

Statement lips with minimal makeup is another on-trend look. At Burberry, lips were a shade of scarlet, gorgeous fuchsia pouts were seen at Dries Van Noten and Missoni's bold coral was a crowd pleaser. A matte lipstick formula seemed to be the key to this summer trend.

If it's a warm day, the last thing you feel like doing is applying a full face of makeup. The minimal, fresh face look was embraced at Diane Von Furstenberg – who says you can't be both fashionable and comfortable! All that is required for this look is concealer, a slick of mascara, a peach blush and lip balm, voila!

In terms of nails, models looked chic with a classic French manicure at Chanel. Otherwise, paint your nails a neon shade for a fun look.
